Crocus goulimyi

In southern Greece (Peloponnese), this species is locally very common in ancient olive groves and below fig trees. Dr. C. N. Goulimy found this crocus in November 1954; but it was only in 1975 that this weatherproof, autumn-flowering species was named after its discoverer. The tubular flowers are pink with a hint of purple, with on the inside a white heart. The tuber is reminiscent of a hazelnut.
