Muscari

Dit alom bekende geslacht kent gelukkig ook enige synoniemen: Botryanthus, Muscarimia en Pseudomuscari. Muscari komt van het Latijnse: muscus (muskusachtig). Sommige species zijn omgeven door deze muskusgeur. Het geslacht Muscari bestaat uit een dertigtal species afkomstig uit het Middellandse-Zeegebied, Turkije tot de Kaukasus. Bekend onder de verzamelnaam blauwe druifjes. Echter niet alleen de diverse tinten blauw of blauwpaars, maar ook witte, sporadisch gele en zelfs roze kleuren worden aangetroffen.
