Crocus nudiflorus
As the name nudiflorus indicates, the flower appears before the leaves, which develop during the flowering period. They are found in the Pyrenees in large numbers. The subterranean parts do not resemble those of the well-known crocus; it has curiously formed stolons. The narrow, slightly pointed petals are soft violet with a discreet shine. In contrast to most other autumn crocuses, C. nudiflorus thrives better on a non-drying soil.
