Hyacinthoides

De eerste beschrijving van de boshyacint dateert van 1601. De brede bladeren zijn wat hangend en lintvormig. De ronde tot 40 cm hoge bloemstelen zijn voor ongeveer eenderde bezet met vele knikkende, breed klokvormige bloemen die de volle zon verdragen, maar hun bloemkleur optimaal tonen op een beschaduwde plek. Prima soortje voor verwildering. Herkomst: Noord-Afrika, Portugal en het westelijk deel van het Middellandse-Zeegebied.
