Ornithogalum lanceolatum
Origin: From southern Turkey to Israel. This variety originates from Altinyayla. Perhaps the most surprising Ornithogalum. The first flowers appear from late October onwards. Flowering continues until the first frost and then, as it were, comes to a standstill as winter sets in. As soon as the temperature rises, the remaining flower buds on the inflorescence open; incidentally, the inflorescence blooms directly above the ground on a very short stem or even without one. The broad leaves form a rosette around the inflorescence.

BELONGS TO THE HYACINTHACEAE FAMILY
From the Greek: ornis (bird) and gala (milk). The genus Ornithogalum consists of a group of bulbous plants suitable for naturalization. The many species, as well as the cultivars, are certainly suitable as cut flowers.
They originate predominantly from the temperate regions of Europe, Asia, and Africa. The bulbs are said to be quite nutritious and tasty, naturally after being cooked.
