Fritillaria sewerzowii

Origin: grows on screes in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, northern Pakistan and Kashmir to far into China. The oppositely disposed, ellipse-shaped leaves are green-grey and are attached to a 25 to 30 cm high stem. The pagoda-shaped flowers, up to fifteen per stem, are slender until they reach the petals. Then they fan out, making the black anthers stand out even more. Flower colour varies from green and brown on the outside and pure green to purple on the inside.
