Description
The only autumn-flowering species. Native to Corsica, Sardinia and Spain. The spathe is purple on the inside, has a lighter colour on the outside and reaches a height of 40 cm. The spadix is almost black. During flowering, the plant emits an unpleasant odor. The leaves appear after flowering and have beautiful silvery veins.
Belongs to the family Araceae
Arum lily. These native woodland plants are primarily known for their beautiful berries in the autumn.
Forty species are known from Europe to Central Asia. Arum lilies are monoecious: the male flowers are located in the upper part of the spadix, while the female flowers, equipped with a 'simple' ovary, are in the lower part.
