Saruma henryi
Belonging to the Aristolochiaceae family and indigenous to China. This long living perennial is not yet well-known here. The completely hardy Saruma requires a light to shady spot, each soil type is suitable. When mature, it can be 50 to 75 cm high. Growth starts in the spring with young, prominent stems with woolly, hairy leaves, between which yellow flowers later appear. It flowers abundantly in spring, which continues to a lesser extent during the major part of the growing season.
