Colchicum autumnale

Intro: 1561 (cultivated forms arose after 1753). A species that can be found in many parts of Europe, with the exception of the South and Southwest. In the Netherlands, they are still found in South Limburg and along the Meuse and the IJssel river. The native plant usually occurs mixed with the white shape on the original sites and has multiple shades of lilac-pink. In England they are called 'Naked Ladies'.
