BELONGS TO THE FAMILY OF AMARYLLIDACEAE

Intro: 1838. Found in abundance in the Tsitsikamma rainforest, located on the eastern side of the Cape Province.

Nowadays often used as a culinary herb: Cape garlic, wild garlic; the leaves, flower buds, and flowers are all edible.
