Ostrowskia magnifica
Special plant, from Turkestan, named after a Russian politician of the 19th century who dedicated himself to botanical science. From a rosette of large, serrated, short stemmed leaves develops a flower stem with a light spray of flowers resembling Campanula. The colour ranges from light blue to white. The fleshy tubers should be planted in a well-drained soil on a sunny, sheltered spot. Protect the plant from wetness and late frost in winter.
