Acis tingitana

Native to northern Morocco, on sandy soil on the coast, south of Tangier. Tinge or Tingi is the old name for the city of Tangier. Late in winter, or early in spring, the four to five small, white flowers appear on 45 cm long from nodding stems. Somewhat similar to A. longifolia, but the leaves are shorter than the flower stem.

BELONGS TO THE FAMILY OF AMARYLLIDACEAE

Derived from the Greek word leucoeion, which means 'white eyes'. This name was used by Hippocrates. This genus is closely related to Galanthus. The main difference lies in the length of the sepals. In Leucojum, they are of equal length.
