BELONGS TO THE FAMILY OF AMARYLLIDACEAE

Derived from the Greek word leucoeion, which means 'white eyes'. This name was used by Hippocrates. This genus is closely related to Galanthus. The main difference lies in the length of the sepals. In Leucojum, they are of equal length.
