Description

Intro: 1802, , descriptions date from the 16th century. Lady Tulip or Candy Tulip. Origin: Northeast Afghanistan and Kashmir (growing wild in some places), southern France and the Greek islands. In Europe they were spread by hitchhiking in the root balls of imported grape vines. Its three to five leaves are grey-green and clearly corrugated. The pointed petals are red on the outside and white on the inside. The base is dark crimson and the stamens are purple. In sunny weather, the open flowers are star-shaped then, the incredible colour combination is especially noticeable.
