Description
A species known to occur only in southern Russia, Kabardino-Balkaria near the river Kamenka. The small, white flowers with a green marking on the inner petals, are sterile, which could explain that only one population is known. Russian botanist J.L. Koss described this species in 1951 and named it after Russian dendrologist V.M. Bortkewitsch.
