Description

F. thunbergii has a kind of adhesive tendrils at the leaf tips, with which it keeps itself standing among bamboo in the wild. When planted near shrubs, Fritillaria will cling to the branches with its adhesive tendrils. The flower stem bears about six scattered cream-green, nodding, bell-shaped flowers that are speckled red on the inside. Origin: eastern Siberia, northwestern China and naturalised in Japan.
