Introduction: 1874. Origin: Western Turkey and the Greek islands of Samos and Chios. The slender flower stalks, 7–10 cm tall, bear sea-green to yellow-green flowers with a diameter of about 3 cm. Very rarely, the outer surface is marked with purple streaks. The slender style is short and undivided. Inside, the sepals are greenish-yellow. The leaves are grey-green, with the lower leaves being noticeably broader. The long ovary has six scale-like, erect ridges.
