Description
In the book The World of Crocus', Janis Ruksans writes about six different geographical forms of this crocus. The range originally comes from the Peloponnese near Stemnitsa, 'the locus classicus'. Those found here are predominantly white or soft lilac. The fragrant flowers show yellow stamens, the throat is greenish white to pale yellow. Named after Alessandro Domenico Mazziari.
