The flower stalks are more than 30 cm long and the large flowers have beautiful convex outer petals. The inner petals have V-U-shaped green markings. Remarkably, 'S. Arnott' smells very strongly of honey.

To date, nineteen species of snowdrop are known. This could well change, and not all botanists agree on this number. Species occur in the wild somewhere in the world.
