Allium myrianthum

A Turkish species introduced as early as 1844. Janis Ruksans found the allium near the city of Göreme at the time of his first trip to Turkey. Remarkably, the flowers, which grow in a compact, dense spherical shape on 60-70 cm high flower stems, are exceptionally soft. The allium was nicknamed 'white pussy', it was as fuzzy as a kitten. The small white flowers appear from June.
