Tulipa talassica
T. talassica occurs alongside T. bifloriformis in Kyrgyzstan, on the southern slopes of the Kyrgyz Alatau. More specifically, it is found in the Talas River valley, after which this species is named. The yellow flowers usually have a red blush on the outer edge of the petals. A characteristic feature is the leaf axil, which develops directly from the ground.
