Tulipa dasystemonoides
First described in 1935 by A. Vvedensky. The very short flower stalk, 1.5–4.5 cm long, is not visible at the time of flowering. The flowers are greyish-white on the outside with a yellow tinge, yellow at the centre on the inside, and white at the tips of the petals. The leaves, of which there are only two, become slightly longer during flowering. This mountain species is found in, amongst other places, north-eastern Uzbekistan and north-western Kyrgyzstan.
