Description

Single-flowered, salmon-orange hyacinth.

BELONGS TO THE HYACINTHACEAE FAMILY

In the 18th century, the love for hyacinths increased and a speculative trade also emerged, just as had been the case with the tulip a century earlier. The name hyacinth is derived from an ancient Greek name, used by Homer among others, of which it was said to have sprung from the blood of the dead Hyakinthos, who, according to legend, was killed by Apollo by accident.
