Allium ericetorum
Intro: 1803. From Greek: ereike means: flower of the heath. Origin: southwestern France, northern part of the Iberian Peninsula, northern and central Italy, the Carpathians and former Yugoslavia. Occurring on stony slopes and heathlands. Three to four flat leaves comprise the lower part of the 10-40 cm tall stem. The inflorescence consists of about ten white to cream bowl-shaped flowers. The protruding brown-tipped stamens accentuate it into a graceful display.
