Intro: 2017. Division 10. From the union of N. cantabricus x N. 'Diamond Ring', this cute white-flowering hoop daffodil was created at W. van Lierop Nursery. The up to four centimetres wide hoops open soft green-yellow, turning green-white. Deliciously sweet- scented. Awarded in 2019 with: Certificate of Preliminary Commendation.
BELONGS TO THE FAMILY OF AMARYLLIDACEAE
The distribution area is large, namely: Southern, Central, and Western Europe, North Africa, China, Japan, and scattered areas in Southwest Asia. However, the vast majority are found in Spain and Portugal.
The name 'Narcissus' is derived from the Greek verb 'narkaoo', which means to numb or to stun. The scent of narcissus was formerly considered numbing or sleep-inducing. The range has arisen from a colorful interplay of wild forms, modern varieties, and historical cultivars. The old varieties, in particular, have a strong fragrance and naturalize well, as they have proven. Especially with modern cultivars, the flowers are more colorfast and have a more perfect shape.
