Chionodoxa luciliae 'Alba'
Description
BELONGS TO THE FAMILY OF HYACINTHACEAE OR SCILLOIDEAE
From the Greek: chion (snow) and doxa (glory, fame). Hence the Dutch name: sneeuwroem (glory of snow); the name Cretan glory of the snow is also used. An early-flowering bulbous plant, the majority originating from Crete and Turkey.
The glory of the snow is particularly suitable for naturalization, for example as undergrowth for shrubs. Propagation via offsets on the bulb and by seed. Suitable for both sun and shade. They are closely related to the genus Scilla.
There is much uncertainty regarding the naming; for the time being, we still follow the one used by the trade.
